Kurt Kuban's passion for outdoor pursuit dates back to his early childhood when he would regularly travel to the wooded 40-acres his father owned in Mescosta County. Whenever he has a spare moment, Kuban grabs his fishing gear, or his shotgun, or canoe and heads as far into the woods and away from civilization as he can get.
Jeff Counts is a veteran of more than 30 years in the newspaper business. He has worked as a reporter and editor at the Bay City Times, and at the Observer & Eccentric newspapers. Apart from fly-fishing for trout he is an avid bird hunter and spends plenty of time in his canoe.
A former sportswriter who covered the Miami Dolphins for the Palm Beach Post, and the National Hockey League for the Atlanta Constitution. He now guides anglers in southwest Florida half the year in pursuit f tarpon, snook and redfish, and guides trout anglers and upland hunters in Michigan the other half.
